Saturday. We had a meeting with some people from Columbia College Film Department. We discussed collaborating on music video, film and exchanging students in the future between Mongolia and USA. We will see how this develops in the future.
November 3, 2009
This afternoon we met the guys at GOYKPHOTO studio. They are well known around Chicago area for their photographs on models, celebrities and musicians. We are planning on a photo shoot that we will put in the booklet for our CD. This shooting will be the last and the best pictures of our album.

Halloween. The most fun part of Halloween to us is chocolates, candies and scary movies. Even though we get scared to death when we watch scary movies, we love to watch them. Sometimes we even cover our eyes and keep on watching it like somebody is forcing us to watch. LOL. We thought about dressing up and going out, but it was chilly out and we had a lot to do in the studio...so we decided stay in, work and eat our favorite chocolates.
October 21, 2009
One of the party days of this October. It seems like we attended way too many parties this month and we also hosted some. Sarnai's birthday was the first and the biggest. Now Halloween is coming up. Party, party, party.
October 15, 2009
John came up with a cool new song and we all sat around and discussed the lyric possibilities. It was fun. He has some whacked ides on the lyrics. LOL
October 9, 2009
We played a benefit show tonight. The concert started at 7PM at Oak Park and River Forest High School, the high School John graduated from. Many bands, musicians and singers participated in this fundraiser event. All the proceeds from the show will go into a fund that provides college scholarships to deserving graduates of the School.
October 8, 2009
Happy Birthday UBS Music Channel! UBS is the most influential music television broadcast network in Mongoliaover the last decade. The Network turned 10 years old this year.
At 9AM, we met with the band at Oak Park and River Forest High School to practice with High School's choir and orchestra. The performance is tomorrow.
October 5. 2009
Pressure Point recording studio. We had a final listening session for the finished mixes of our songs. Made a few changes on the spot and John also wrote down things that he will fix over the next few days. Many people have been involved and worked on this album so far. We are hoping that the songs on our album will be the favorites of the new generation of Mongolians.
October 3, 2009
Happy Birthday Sarnai!!! Today is Sarnai's birthday. We celebrated with close friends and family members. Sarnai usually cooks and makes a delicious dinner for everyone's birthday. This time everybody got involved in making their signature foods and making her day a happy birthday.
October 1, 2009
Chinbaa and the girls went to Chicago's newly rebuilt Rock n' Roll McDonald's to shoot a short video. We are sending a greeting for Mongolian UBS Music TV's anniversary. We thought the location was perfect because the little house by McDonald's had Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Chuck Berry's picture, sculpture and some Rock n' Roll history related facts and instruments.
September 22, 2009
Happy Birthday, Chinbaa!!! Our dear friend, talented composer, singer and the band 's producer, Chinbaa celebrated his birthday today. We all gathered at home with family and friends.
September 16-19, 2009
New York. Chinbaa performed with legendary Aretha Franklin again. We decided to make a last minute road trip to New York for the weekend and take a much needed break from working on our album. We enjoyed the city and Aretha's great music and met some new friends, including Mariah Carey's producer (Big Jim) and other great musicians who performed with Aretha.
We decided to extend the trip an extra day and drive up north to say hello Stevo, who mixed many of the tracks on our new upcoming album. He is a Grammy Award winning sound engineer and had worked with all the talented and well-known artists such as R.Kelly, Celine Dion, Mary J.Blige, Whitney Houston, Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys.
September 9, 2009
999. The lucky number. Chinbaa and Sarnai tied the knot on this lucky day. We, the friends of Chinbaa and Sarnai, wish them a happy and long life together and many many many children:)
September 1-7, 2009
Our talented friend, aspiring film director, and graphic designer Amirdash, who created our website, came to Chicago to work on our new music video. Throughout the whole week we put everything aside and worked on the music video, which will be on Mongolian TVs in a few months.
August 17, 2009
Happy Birthday, Sundre!!! As we always do, we celebrated Sundre's birthday with family and friends. By the way, Sundre is the most athletic and the tiniest one in the group, but she is a few months older than Sarnai and Bogi, which makes her the older sister to the other two of us. LOL
August 8, 2009
Soldier Field, the home of Chicago Bears football team. The final season game of lacrosse was held here and we performed before the game. It was a short 1 hour gig.
August 7, 2009
We performed at St.Zachary's August Fest in Des Plaines, Illinois. This is the third year that we have appeared at this fun event. We all rode on a carousel and had a hot dog and funnel cake. Fun times!!!
July 25, 26, 2009
Sarnai and John worked on video for 48 hours. Not even a wink of sleep:) Just a little exaggeration:) They got a couple of hours sleep a day, that was it. This was a video for our first Mongolian music video that we are sending to Mongolia. Well, it is not complete yet. The video will be edited further at the video production in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
July 23, 2009
We had the live concert recording at Durty Nellies in Palatine with Joe Cantafio & 101st Rock Division. This recording will be sent out to all the military bases and will be played on TV's. We play with Joe Cantafio & 101st Rock Division time to time and this is a great opportunity to thank to our troops and brave warriors who keep us safe every day.**
July 22, 2009
We had a 2 hours show at Performing Arts Center in Bolinbrook with 101st Rock Division. We had fun playing with those great musicians. We always love and enjoy playing with them. This revenue had one of the greatest, biggest stage in southwest suburbs. Great lights and projectors. The most importantly, great audience. It was nice to see some of our friends came to enjoy the Wednesday Night Classic Rock show. We enjoy playing these cover gigs because the music is totally different from ours and we get to sing every genre like rock, pop, country, reggae, salsa and so on. Those are also great time of dancing and connecting with fans.
July 15, 2009
We're so glad that we went out and took some pictures on this beautiful day in Chicago. The best part is this unplanned shooting with our photographer Bobby turned out to be a great one. Everybody loved the color and atmosphere of the pictures. We'll work on the pictures to see if any of them should go on our website or on the album cover. Yes, they were that good.
To Chinbaa and John, thanks for coming out with us and giving your opinions guys:)
July 11, 12, 13, 2009
Mongolian National Holiday "Men's Three Games". Although we are in America, we celebrate our national holidays. We cooked our traditional food "buuz", "hushur", and "tea with dumplings". We had a great time spending all these days outdoor with friends.
July 7, 2009
Beautiful summer day. We spent all day searching for the best dress for our video "Mongolian National Anthem". We like to shop online. However , the downside of online shopping is we are not able to try the clothes on until we get it in our hands. If the clothes don't fit we have to return and so on. We have a few people that design for us but this music video will take place soon and we don't have time to have them sew dresses for us. Today we didn't have good luck finding nice dresses. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.
BTW, Chinbaa babysat Benjamin while we were out all day. He said he had a good quality time with our 6 months old male chihuahua Benjamin. When we got home they both were laying down in Chinbaas' bed right next to each other, Soooo cute.
July 2, 2009
We had a meeting with our new friend, video producer, entertainment lawyer Roderick Plummer again to discuss about our future video projects. We had dinner before the meeting and somehow we started talking about dogs. Rod happens to have a deer-headed female chihuahua like our Benjamin Isn't that cute? We talked about having them meet to see if they like each other. Excited....
July 1, 2009
Dance rehearsal. We started to get ready for the music video shooting of "Cheater". It was not as same as the usual dance rehearsals:) Pretty advanced moves that we are not use to. It has been a while since we danced this HARD last time. Our body was so sore next day, that we couldn't even walk down the stairs:) We gotta say that we are up for a challenge and most of all, it was fun to learn new moves:)
June 27, 2009
Sarnai got back from L.A. this morning. We had a guest appearance on our friend's show and we had a blast. We played in Shark City with "6Westgate". Our longtime friend Richard Forty is the percussionist in the band, who asked us to sing a few songs with them. We try our best to be supportive as our friends are to us:)
June 26, 2009
Sarnai attended the concert in Hollywood Ball of Los Angeles where Chinbaa played with Aretha Franklin and her band. She met many celebrities over there and also saw Halle Berry just a step away from Chinbaa on the stage.
June 21, 2009
Our cute little niece Zoe Tsogzolma Sena's baptism. We sang Mongolian lullaby for her. Although we sang in Mongolian everyone seemed to be enjoying it. Chinbaa arranged it in 3 part harmony the night before he left to Las Vegas for Aretha Franklin's show. He is just so talented, what else could we say. It took him only fifteen minutes to come up with this arrangement.
June 18, 2009
Rehearsal day. We had a rehearsal with "6Westgate" for their upcoming show. It was so much fun working with those 6 talented guys. Sarnai taught the bass player a part of bass line of Journey song "Separate Ways". Bogi showed how to nail the beginning synth part to the keyboardist. The education that we had at our music school comes very handy from time to time.
June 13, 2009
Our co-producer, John, finished mixing the Mongolian National Anthem today. It sounds fabulous. Now we are working on the scheduling and planning of the music video. We will be working with one of Mongolia's top production companies on this very special video, which hopefully will help to ring in a new era for Mongolia.
June 11, 2009
Today was a "Chocolate Day" as Sundre & Bogi brought some very tasty dark chocolate to the studio as we worked on arranging one of our hot new songs, featuring rapper Jargon. There is just something about chocolate that makes a day perfect. Hopefully a taste of the new song will be uploaded to the website soon.
June 10. 2009
Networking day. All the girls set down on the computers for hours to respond e-mails, comments and requests. This is part of our everyday life since we opened the website and all the other social networking sites. We have fun doing so.
June 7. 2009
Today we recorded an incredible arrangement of our Mongolian National Anthem. Our producer, Chinbaa, wrote the arrangement for full orchestra and it sounds like a heroic song you would hear on the Olympics. It is part of our heritage and an honor to have the opportunity to record this song for our Mongolian people. We hope the younger generation will learn to sing and be proud of their National Anthem. We used to hear only an orchestral version on the radio when we grew up. Now our people will have a version they can sing on their "Man's three game" festival or professional sports, like they do in America. It will make Mongolians patriotism within stronger, which already we are proud of.
June 6. 2009
Today was a very early start day for the shooting of a new music video. This will be our first music video of the "Sweetymotion" album in Mongolian language. Everyone woke up at 5AM except our director John- he went to sleep at 7:00am woke up at 7:30am only 30 minutes later. Everyone arrived at the gospel church between 9:30-10:00AM for 6 hours of shooting. The gospel choir and musicians were great to work with. Pastor Ray, a very religious and nice human being, was gracious in lending us the church and his talented singers and musicians. At one point, John referred to him as "Pastor Dude" because of all the great work he was doing. Leave it up to John to refer to a Pastor as "dude" - Everyone got a kick out of it. Thanks to all our singers, musicians and the crew.
June 1.2009
Today is National Mother's and Child's day in Mongolia. Happy Holiday to all mothers and children. On this day we used to go to the Amusement Park in Ulaanbaatar (there was only one) and stay in line for at least half an hour for every game. It was worth it though as we waited through the winter in anticipation of this special day. The park was probably only 10% of the size of a "Six Flags" theme park like they have in America, but to us it was like heaven at that time.
May 30. 2009
We arrived at Soldier Field around 10 AM for sound check. It was freezing cold in the morning. We all wore just a top over jean pants because the forecast said it would be a warm day. Luckily, a few hours later the sun broke through and it turned out to be beautiful outside as noon approached. So our outfits worked just fine. We did a 1 hour show for people arriving into the stadium for the opening day of the professional lacrosse season. The highlight of the day was running into and performing for some of our friends from the U.S Army and Marines.
May 28. 2009
Today was another rehearsal day. We girls met up around 2pm, ate lunch and drove to Addison for vocal practice. The three of us usually rehearse without the band to work on background vocal parts, leads and choreography details. Later that evening we had rehearsal in Downers Grove with the whole band. Everything went smoothly as we prepared for our gig at Chicago's Soldier Field, which holds 61,500 people. We were told 10,000-20,000 people will show up for the opening of the professional Lacrosse season...so we will rock them out before the match. It's always nice to do a Rock & Roll show once in while.
May 25. 2009
Today John and the girls laid down some cool vocal tracks for "Giddy Up." We will have a taste of the song uploaded to our website soon. Kanye, eat your heart out. This might be our first single on the new album.
May 22, 23. 2009
Our producers Chinbaa and John worked on the arrangement for “Giddy up”, our hot new club tune featuring rapper Jargon. Everyone is digging the new cut.
May 21. 2009
An amazing Jazz trumpet player named Larry Bowen, from the Chicago Jazz Ensemble joined us in the studio today to cut some killer Miles Davis style horn tracks on "Zuudleerei." He is an awesome musician and his playing makes the song come alive.
May 14, 15. 2009
Today we continued to mix the song “Erhem Setgel”. Our producers Chinbaa and John worked on the final mix of the song. We spent the most time of all our recordings on this mix because it is a very elaborate recording. We recorded an authentic Chicago gospel choir on this song and are preparing to shoot an amazing music video in the gospel church.
May 7. 2009
Our producers Chinbaa and John came to rehearsal and we worked on unplugged live versions of some of our songs with just piano, guitar and vocals. We would like to do a few unplugged shows in the future. We will upload some unplugged performances on video soon.
May 4. 2009
Sundre was almost attacked by a baby spider today. We were reading our email when an itsy bitsy spider came along side her and all 3 girls ran out of the room screaming. The poor little guy just wanted to make friends and we scared him to death.
May 1. 2009
Summer is finally here. Chicago weather reminds us a lot of Mongolia. They are so much alike. 4 seasons. Hot summer (except it is humid in Chicago, dry in Mongolia), beautiful fall, cold, snowy winter, and refreshing, romantic spring. It definitely helps us when we get home sick:)
April 30. 2009
Today was a pretty interesting and funny day. We attempted to rehearse one of our songs in 3 languages. At first it seemed like a train wreck- but by the time we were finished- it sounded perfect in all 3 languages. When we first started singing "On My Way" in Japanese, Bogi sang the Chorus in English, while Sundre was singing in Mongolian and Sarnai was making up her own language. It was the most fun we have had in a long time-since we were little girls...oh wait we still are little girls- forever!
April 27.2009
Today was another exhausting rehearsal day as we worked on background vocals for our live show. When we got back home we cooked John one his favorite gourmet meals of ours- bread and water! Just kidding- of course it was a special Italian dish that Sarnai invented.
April 24. 2009
Happy birthday, Bogi! We had a huge virtual birthday party for Bogi today with guests from all over the globe. The night club was packed,(we think) although it was hard to tell how many people were there because we couldn't make it in the club (or clubs) ...because it was virtual. It was said that we ate enough chocolate to fill a candy store...but how would anyone know if it was virtual???
April 21. 2009
Our dog, Benjamin is getting very feisty at his young age- he tried to take John's headphones away...maybe he wanted to hear the new Gospel song and pretend he was in doggie church.
April 19. 2009
Spent all day driving around town, checking out locations for our upcoming music videos. There are so many cool locations in Chicago. It's such a great city. We will let you know where we're going to be shooting when time comes:)
April 16. 2009
We had a drum session at “Pressure Point Recording Studios” for “Argald Yavsan Ijii”. It went very well. Our drummer Rob Rathunde did a great job.
April 12. 2009
Easter Sunday. Our dear friend Jerome Walker invited us to Easter Sunday service at his church. We had wonderful time and we met the preacher and the Gospel music was amazing. You will get a taste of some Gospel music in one of the new songs from our album soon.
April 10. 2009
It was very productive day. We all spent the whole day with our producers Chinbaa and John Steele at “Top Secret Recording Studio” doing mixing on “Revvin' It Up” feat. Jargon.
April 7. 2009
We performed a few songs at Columbia College's “World Enigma” international student fair.
April 3. 2009
Sarnai and Chinbaa met the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, who is a living legend and was voted the Greatest Singer Of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine. Chinbaa played a great show with Aretha and they were able to talk with her backstage after the show. We have some cool photos and video.
March 30. 2009
Our website launched today!!! So excited. It's a good feeling looking at it after hard work and many sleepless days and nights. Hope you all enjoy it!
March 27. 2009
Stayed up all night editing SweetYmotion.com TV Commercial.
March 26. 2009
Shot Mongolian TV Interview for SweetYmotion.com and was offered record contracts by 2 strangers who stopped us while walking down Michigan Avenue in our high heels on our way to the interview.
March 24. 2009
We filmed our first “Dinner With SweetYmotion” episode – This will be an ongoing TV series where we pick a fan, friend or family member and cook a gourmet meal for them. Our first episode was with the Steele family and we cooked them a few very tasty traditional Mongolian dishes, along with a special French dish of Sarnai's. We look forward to sharing our cooking with many special people.
March 15. 2009
We're attending the memorial concert for our dear musician friend, Munkuu, who we lost recently. We will dedicate and perform a few songs in his memory.
March 8. 2009
Vocal rehearsal all day. We are preparing for an upcoming live show, which is coming up on March 15th.
March 6. 2009
Sundre dropped a glass filled with water and shattered the glass all over the floor. Funny thing is Bogi warned her to be careful the minute she walked in to the room with that a glass of water. John just looked up and rolled his eyes, thinking…Sundre might end up with a new nickname at this rate.
March 3. 2009
Sundre fell down a few stairs. She's ok. No damage:) - but she was awarded with this week's klutz*#*^ award.
February 24. 2009
Mongolian New Year's Eve. We all gathered at Chinbaa's sisters, since she's the eldest among us. It's a tradition. According to the oral tradition that was passed down to us, we have to eat until we feel full. It's related to full moon, because today we have full moon. We celebrate it for 3 days besides the normal worldwide New Year's Eve. We visit our elders and relatives who we haven't seen in a while. We eat steamed dumplings, pot stickers and slow cooked whole lamb, which also indicate and represent the full moon. Everything has to be either white, round or whole and stuffed. This is the most celebrated holiday among Mongolians around the world.
February 12. 2009
Mixing "Ollie, Ollie Oxen" with John. It Is freeeeezing in Chicago. We're glad we don't have to go outside today.
February 10. 2009
On the phone all day back and forth with Amira for website ideas. He is our website developer.
February 2. 2009
Working on the Mongolian "Song for Mom and Dad" mix.
January 30. 2009
Back in the studio. Adding vocals to "On My Way" at RaxTrax.
January 25. 2009
We visited the famous Biltmore house in Asheville, NC. It Is the largest home In the United States. What a beautiful home…like a castle. We felt like princesses for an afternoon of tea with a queen.
January 24. 2009
We are all packed up and now driving back home…to cold weather. It's so sad we have to leave this paradise…but we need to finish our Mongolian album and have more shooting to do back in Chicago.
10pm. We stopped by one of our writing collaborator's (Scott) parents house in North Carolina. We hope to return soon to film and episode of our “Dinner With SweetYmotion” TV Series.
January 23. 2009
This is the last day of recording in sunny South Palm Beach. So far, we recorded "So Over You", "On My Way" and "Song for Mom and Dad" in Japanese. It feels great knowing that we can sing in a language that is so different than ours. In fact, our Japanese friends gave us compliments about our pronunciation. Check'm out and let us know what you think:)
We also recorded new tunes, like "On My Way", "Ollie, Ollie Oxen", and "Show me" for our upcoming worldwide SweetYmotion English Debut album.
January 20. 2009
Photo shoot again. This time, it's for the poster of the "Sweetymotion" album. We're putting a poster in the middle of the CD Booklet, so you can see us up on your wall, just like we used to do when were teenagers:)
We like photo shoots very much…well, we're girls. Who doesn't like to dress up and put make-up on?
January 15. 2009
We spent all day on our Myspace, Hi5, and Facebook pages. We're so excited and glad that we can make more friends and give them chance them explore the World of Sweetymotion. It's gonna be an exciting journey. Check it out and say "hi" sometime- we try to respond to everyone as soon as possible! If you are already our friend don't forget to stop by and to keep in touch.
January 12. 2009
Photo shooting day. 6AM. We're shooting a group photo by the beach for "Sweetymotion" album, for "Song for Mom and Dad".
7PM. It went very well, we just love the picture. Guess what? We blew bubbles and were jumping and playing around. It was like a flashback to our childhood. Just when we wanted to take one last shot and had it perfectly set up…a giant wave smashed into us.
January 10, 11. 2009
Recording, recording and recording….oh we did get up early for great walks on the beach. Some of us even jogged along the shore.
January 9. 2009
12AM. Just arrived at the South Palm Beach ocean front condo. We have no energy left. Bedtime.
5PM. Finished building the recording studio and finally starting to record. It's so tempting here. We want to record but at the same time want to go out and enjoy the beautiful weather.
January 8. 2009
On the road again. Drove till 5 am last night and settled in Atlanta, Georgia. It's 55 F outside. So nice and warm compared to Chicago's 0 F. It'll be in the 80's down in Florida, oooo that sounds so nice:)
January 7. 2009
We are finally all packed up and leaving this 2 feet of snow here in Chicago to bask in the Florida sun.
10pm. Arrived in Kentucky- driving from Chicago to South Palm Beach, Florida. Temperature is going up, yeah, can't wait to feel the warm breeze, jump into pool and get eaten up by the warm ocean waves. Well, actually it's gonna be 3 full weeks hard work. We decided to use our vacation time to record Japanese versions of our songs. This should be a wild new experience. By the way, the chicken wings in the Hooters by the river on the Kentucky/Indiana boarder taste so different than in one's Chicago.
